Interactivity in education is crucial, whether it takes place in the classroom or online. It encompasses a wide range of activities, from group work and role play to online quizzes, interactive images, and videos. By incorporating interactive elements into educational materials, we can effectively capture students’ attention and enhance their motivation to learn. These interactive features hold equal value for both learning new concepts and revisiting old topics. When thoughtfully crafted, they have the power to facilitate the understanding of complex subjects and transform less appealing topics into engaging ones.

While I do have experience with other tools, my primary focus has been on creating interactive learning components in Moodle, H5P, and Genial.ly. Below are a few examples of my work.

Moodle: I have developed quizzes and assignments using Moodle’s versatile features, allowing students to engage actively with the course content and receive immediate feedback.

H5P: With H5P, I have designed interactive presentations, interactive videos, and interactive question sets, making the learning experience more dynamic and engaging.

Genial.ly: I have utilized Genial.ly to create visually appealing interactive infographics and gamified activities, enhancing the way students visualize and understand complex information.

As a learning designer, I remain committed to exploring innovative tools and techniques to continually enhance and enrich interactive learning experiences for diverse audiences.

Interactive videos (H5P)

This interactive video was created to address the limitations posed by the recent pandemic, preventing students from traveling. Its primary goal is to provide them with an immersive experience of the sights and sounds of Zagreb while simultaneously enriching their knowledge about the city’s history and culture. Through this interactive video, students can virtually explore Zagreb’s charm and significance, allowing them to engage with the content almost as if they were physically there.

Escape Room activity (Genial.ly)

The Croatian language can be quite challenging for English speakers to master. One of the most difficult aspects in the early stages of language learning is distinguishing between two grammatical elements that are used similarly but have substantial differences. To tackle this hurdle, I have developed an engaging activity in the form of an escape room game. The main objective of this game is to help students memorize the differences between these elements while having fun and being actively involved in their language-learning journey.
